This year is BookFest Windsor’s 21st anniversary and the 20th (plus one!) anniversary of the Tower of Freedom Monument. We are hosting this event in person, which will also be recorded for virtual audiences. There will be no charge and we welcome all to come and view the digital version.

Between Goyeau St. and McDougall Ave., Civic Esplanade   Address: 200 Pitt St. E., Windsor, Ontario
Rain Location: All Saints’ Anglican Church, 330 City Hall Square.

This is a partnership between Literary Arts Windsor and Essex County Black Historical Research Society. Funded by Canada Council for the Arts Digital Now Grant. Filmed by Daylz Media.
Note that this event is being filmed for public release.

Words and Monuments is going beyond the borders with Black history-related poetry, non-fiction, dance, and music. Featuring Michael Fraser, The Daybreakers and local Detroit-Windsor African/Black/Caribbean poets and musicians: Bummi Onanaye, Teajai Travis, Mbonisi Zikhali, Florine Ndimubandi.
